Item 5.  Principal regularly attends AND provides instructional leadership at RTI meetings



Mere principal attendance at RTI meetings is not enough!  Principals’ must be an active member of the team meeting process.  It is critical that principals develop their knowledge in effective instructional practices and are familiar with RTI meeting agendas to lead this work. 

At RTI meetings principals should be able to:

  • interpret data
  • ensure that someone prepares the data to bring to the meetings
  • ensure that all staff members actively participate
  • ensure all staff trust the meeting process
  • ensure that all staff engage in a positive manner
