Christie began her career here in the Tigard Tualatin School District as a elementary school secretary. She worked at James Templeton for seven years before heading to the District Office. While here she has worked in the Business Office and Community Relations. This past year she spent time working on the district website, helping to create the look of the front page and greeting all visitors to our District Office. When not at the office she is an assistant coach for the Tualatin High School Dance Team. Christie, her husband and two kids grew up in the Tigard Tualatin School District and are proud to be a part of such a great district. (Go Beavers)

Lisa Bates is a Teacher on Special Assignment with the Oregon Response to Intervention (OrRTI) Project. Lisa began her career as a school psychologist. Lisa has also worked as a Data Literacy Facilitator promoting data based decision making and systems change for multi-tiered instruction and RTI. She earned her B.A in psychology from Dickinson College and her PhD in School Psychology from the University of Denver. She also has an educational administration credential from Portland State University. |

Tara Black is a half-time Teacher On Special Assignment with the OrRTI project and a half-time English Language Development Teacher on Special Assignment with the Tigard-Tualatin School District. She is an experienced Federal Programs administrator, classroom teacher, bilingual educator, and literacy coach/leader who has vast experience working in schools of high poverty. Tara is also a Nationally Certified Project G.L.A.D Key Trainer and works as a part-time instructorfor Marylhurst University and Concordia University. When not working she can be found spending time with her two daughters and husband, doing Bikram yoga, reading, cooking and various outdoor activities with her family. Tara earned her B.A in Elementary Education from Concordia University and her M. ED in Curriculum and Instruction and ESOL from Concordia Unveristy. She also holds her educational administration credential from Portland State University. |

Jon Potter is a Teacher on Special Assignment with the Oregon Response to intervention (OrRTI) Project. Jon has most recently worked as a school psychologist in Heartland Area Education Agency in Iowa, where he provided ongoing support to administrators and teachers in the implementation of data-based schoolwide reading systems and individual problem solving for struggling and at-risk students. Jon has a background in special education, early literacy, and linking assessment data to instruction. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Denver and his M.S. in Special Education and Ph.D in School Psychology from the University of Oregon. |

David began his work in the Tigard-Tualatin School District as a manager with the OrRTI project in 2007. He is now returning to the project after two years of work as TTSD's assessment coordinator and RTI coach. In this role he managed district-wide assessment activities, developed assessment systems for monitoring student progress and worked with secondary schools to develope RTI practices. Prior to his work in TTSD, David worked as a school psychologist in public and private schools in the US and abroad. He earned his Masters and Doctorate degrees in School Psychology from the University of Oregon. Direct and repeated measurement, evidence-based practices, and data-based decision making are cornerstones of his educational philosophy that have guided research and practice throughout his career. |

Tammy Rasmussen is a Teacher on Special Assignment with the Oregon Response to Intervention (OrRTI) project. She is a Presidential Awardee for Mathematics and is currently providing support and coaching to our Southern Oregon districts in RTI/MTI. She spent 6 years teaching kindergarten, two years as a district level instructional coach, and many years teaching other grade levels. Her work with mathematics has her involved in training for the Bridges program through the Math Learning Center. She has also collaborated with the George Lucas Foundation on a video called the “Magic of Math”. Her background in instructional strategies, professional learning communities, and how to use data to drive instruction has proven to be a wonderful addition to our team. Her two boys and supportive husband keep her busy in her free time with soccer, baseball, golf, and more. |

Dean Richards is a Teacher on Special Assignment with the Oregon Response to Intervention (OrRTI) project. He is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. He taught fifth and sixth grade for nine years. He also worked as a Reading Professional Development Specialist and Literacy Specialist. Dean also works as a trainer for Macmillan/McGraw Hill’s Treasures program and often models lessons for OrRTI districts. When not working he can be found on the hiking trail or at Oregon football games. His specialties include high quality instruction in reading, writing and math, core curriculum, and assessment. Dean earned his B.A. in Human Services and Sociology from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) and his M.A. in Elementary Education from University of Washington. |
